Josef K

I know this band was a big influence on Franz Ferdinand and probably would have been a bigger influence on more American bands if they had any kind of distribution state side other than as expensive imports. As it is, most Americans probably know them from their compiled works that was finally released to a larger distribution only a few years ago(was it 5 or 6 years ago?). They were on Postcard Records which is a personal favorite of mine since I’m a fan of Orange Juice(Edwyn Collin’s old band) and the Go Betweens. I’ll be featuring more from those bands in the near future. Back to Josef K – they were kind of like a post punk version of the Velvet Underground – very conscious of pushing the boundaries that they saw.  Anyway, here is one of their tamer songs that I guess made the charts in England(hence Top of the Pops)

Sorry for Laughing by Josef K
